Stunning Spring Programm

The Lesher Center for the Arts presents visual stunner Petite Mort, the World Premiere of the striking French Twist, and passionate Songs of Mahler. European choreographer Jirí Kylián’s breathtaking Petite Mort, which pairs six men and six women with six fencing foils, marks a significant collaboration for Smuin Ballet.

A Fest for the whole Family

FamilyFest is a new, larger 3-day outdoor children’s festival over the Memorial Day Weekend for the first time in Walnut Creek, CA.  Admission is $5 per person if you bring a can of food for the Food Bank (or $6 without a donation).

Starts on Saturday, May 29 from 10am and ends on monday, May 31 at Heather Farm in Walnut Creek.

Colorful Work on Display

An eclectic collection of local art is on exhibit at the Contra Costa JCC including the colorful and vibrant work of Michael Yashar. The artist spent his childhood in Isfahan and Teheran and at age 17 Yashar came to the U.S. to study art and architecture, reflected in his vivid works.

From May 12–September 17, from Monday-Thursday, 9 am-8 pm, Friday 9 am-3 pm. Admission is free. At  2071 Tice Valley Blvd. in Walnut Creek.

It’s all about Fashion!

Remember those gardenia wrist corsages? An exhibit of prom dresses and accessories dating back to the 1920s, including cotillion dance cards, are on display at Shadelands Ranch Museum. The dresses represent the changing styles and fashion over the years and illustrate how the Cotillion Ball has evolved to the high school prom of today.

From May 23–June 30, Wednesdays and Sundays, 1-4 pm at 2660 Ygnacio Valley Rd., Walnut Creek.

Bouquets & Bubblies
